Back for another instalment of Five Fresh For Your Friday, where we select some of the biggest bangers to come out of the Asia Pacific Metalcore scene this week.
This list is pretty Japan artist heavy this week, but it cannot be helped! So without further ado, in no particular order, let’s get into it.
5. The Cards I Play– Madness
At NNV we have been following this band since close to the beginning so we are always hyped when the lads from Tokyo based metalcore infused modern rock band give us a new one to spin. Madness is the latest evolution in their sound and combined with a high-octane music video, surely needs to be added into your music rotation instantly.
4. Gai荄- Same Old Story
Straight out of Hanoi, Vietnam this one came out of nowhere. Gathering a range of sonic inspirations from deathcore, metalcore, beatdown and nu-metal, this track is ferocious. Viciously ripping through your ear drums. Dynamic vocals, intense wall of sound energy throughout and of course, a nasty, nasty breakdown. This band truly is one to watch.
3. Sable Hills- Battle Cry feat. Kenta Koie (Crossfaith)
One of the rising stars in the Japanese metalcore, Sable Hills have given us another taste of what is to come from their upcoming album Odyssey. Undefeated at writing the catchiest choruses, the Tokyo Riff Lords show once again why they have such a huge following. This latest drop, featuring the legendary Kenta Koie from Crossfaith adds another layer to their ever-building legacy. Also, c’mon who doesn’t love some real classic metalcore.
2. The Gloom In The Corner- The Jericho Protocol
Probably one of the most interesting bands kicking around the scene, Australia’s The Gloom In The Corner have dropped their prelude to their 2022 album Trinity. Saturated with lore and always tapping into the theatrics, this band is as dynamic as they are brutal. Based off the short story “A Reflection; A Thousand Deaths” by vocalist Mikey Arthur, this is one band that always manage to blow you away with their sound.
1. Crossfaith- God Speed feat. WargasmUK
Look, we did a whole article about this track- so we won’t go on too much. It is one of those songs that becomes addictive, getting even better with every listen. If you need a song to instantly improve your day and your mood- then this one is it.
Did we leave out a track you have been frothing this week?
