Tokyo’s The Cards I Play never fail to exceed our expectations here at NOISE ‘N’ VISUALS. Infusing their alternative nu-metal style with a range of metalcore, hiphop and other influences, the trio are back with their brand new single ‘Madness’.
This high octane track marks a new chapter in the band’s journey. In what can be described as refinement of the band’s signature style; a blend of heavy sounds and diverse switch-ups, then interweaving it with hiphop elements and huge sing-a-long sections. Always authentic in delivery, the band continues to tell their story lyrically- touching upon the “madness” that comes with chasing your dreams and the choice to continue moving forward while embracing the chaos, or to give in to the pressure and “let the silence destroy you.”

The track does not come alone, rather it is a double sided release with the single ‘King’. Showcasing the bands diverse skills, this track leans more into the hiphop element- allowing the band to shine in a new way. Of course, there are still breakdowns but each member has their moment to shine. While main rapper Daniel kicks off the single, frontman Joji also debuts his own rap section. Not to be left on the side, the track finishes with a funky and frenetic bass solo from Daiya– leaving us with the impression that we are only just starting to get to know who The Cards I Play are.
Oh and if that is not enough, the two songs is of course the visuals, two incredible music videos directed by Seidai Takekoshi from creative team LIFE is SAMPLING.
If you are based in Japan, then you are in luck. To coincide with this release and their first ever one man live on May 17th, the band has also announced their “FOR YOUR LEGACY JAPAN TOUR”.
