You know what time it is! We are back around for another Five Fresh For Your Friday, where we grab five hot, freshly baked metalcore tracks that have dropped from around the Asia Pacific region.
We have a little mixed bag, some different sounds from across the metalcore spectrum- so as always, in particular order, let’s jump in!
5. Falling Asleep- DIE OR RIDE
The quartet from Tokyo might not be super known outside of Japan, but these guys are responsible for some of the biggest events in the Tokyo underground metalcore scene! Their latest track DIE OR RIDE is a catchy bop, with futuristic pop elements and a heavy bass sound. Drawing influences from the more digital styles that they often incorporate, the breakdown is light but gives us a fun guitar solo. If you are looking for some more fun, pop-infused metalcore, than Falling Asleep is where it is at!
4. Revoid- Everything
Another track to get you in your feels, Everything is an ode to the bands former selves. Melodic, heavy and deep- this Brisbane metalcore band knows how to turn on the intensity. Channelling some of the regrets of the past and using them to turn pain into art, this track takes the old addage of metalcore being about self-reflection. A worthy addition to any in the feels playlist.
3. Dexcore- Still Alive
Look, we are tugging on the heart strings this week with this list of songs- but how can we look past the latest offering from Japanese visual metal act Dexcore? We obviously can’t. Still Alive is anthem, with that acoustic intro dragging you into what you think is going to be a soft emo ballad but suddenly you are hit with furious drumming. It doesn’t stick there, balancing heavy and soft throughout the track- we get to hear more of vocalists Kagami’s incredible range.
2. The Last Martyr- The Nihilist feat. Rivilin
This cyberpop metalcore act never fails to release something a little left of centre- and we love them for it! This latest offering, featuring alternative emo rapper Rivilin channels some classic nu-metal vibes. We love Monica Strut’s vocal range, going from sweet pop melodies to ripping screams.
1.ANNALYNN- Bathed In Sin
Thai-metalcore heavyweights ANNALYNN have dropped their much anticipated new EP ‘Failure Will Find Me’ and with it, a new single Bathed In Sin. There is not much more to say than this takes the classic metalcore song structure and just masters it utterly and completely. The latest in this bands sonic evolution, we know you will have this track ON REPEAT.
Did we leave out a track you have been frothing this week?
