As we wait for one of the most anticipated albums in Japanese metalcore, Tokyo Riff Lords Sable Hills have given us a little bit more to chew on. With the album being pushed back to a later date, the band has dropped new single ‘Anthem‘ as a placeholder- and of course we are lapping it up.

Signing with Arising Empire records at the end of 2023, Sable Hills have continued to dominant the Japanese scene. Their classic metalcore sound with an updated twist, the young band has been making waves that are beyond their years.

Their latest offering ‘Anthem’ is exactly that. It is the fifth single off their upcoming full length release ‘Odyssey’, this track does not disappoint. Backing such epic previous singles, which have featured the likes of Crossfaith’s Kenta Koie and Unearth’s Trevor Phipps, is no easy feat. With it’s blistering riffs and catchy melodies, it truly can stand on its own. The vocal dynamic between frontman Takuya’s growls and guitarist Wataru is stronger than ever, allowing a more full bodied sound.

If one thing is certain, with the release of ‘Anthem’, we are even more excited for what is to come when ‘Odyssey‘ gets in our grubby hands.

While you wait though, you can stream ‘Anthem’ here.
You can also preorder the new album here.
