We had a little time off last week to recover from the Philippines Wacken Metal Battle, (read a bit more about that here) but we are back this week with some fresh music.

Along with the releases we covered earlier, like the new Anthem’ from Sable Hills and a little “in case you missed” highlight of the return of LOSTTHREADS, we’ve got five more tracks fresh from the Asia-Pacific Metalcore scene to chuck on that playlist.

As always, in no particular order:

5. SAME PAINS- Nausea OD
A collective focused on spotlighting regional heavies and bands as a whole, delivering belligerent riffs and erratic live shows, Brisbane/Meanjin based SAME PAINS dropped ‘Nausea OD’, their 6th single off their upcoming collection closure – an aggregate‘. Aggressive, emotive and raw- it is also a track you will find yourself two-stepping to.

4. Brinicle Rain- Gamma Risk
Combining DJent elements to create some funky, modern metalcore, South Korea’s Brinicle Rain their latest track ‘Gamma Risk‘, which features on their first full-length album ‘Gamma’ (out now). With a bombastic vocal range and a fresh sound, the band are pulling off music beyond their years.

3. Crossfaith- DV;MM¥SY5T3M
Okay, so they didn’t release this as a single but there is so much chatter about this track, we couldn’t NOT include. Leaning on a bit deathcore and boasting a heavier sound than we’ve ever heard Crossfaith go before, it delivers what may possible the first ever bleurgh in a Crossfaith track? (Somebody fact check that for us) Either way, it slaps.

2. Revoid- Never Mind
This band never fails to get us in the feels. Taking us on a voyage of heavy emotion while drowning us in a pool of heavy, melodic melancholy, Revoid are masters of introspective subject matter. There must be something in the water over in Brisbane/Meanjin because the music coming out of the city is ridiculously impressive.

1. Windrunner- Dissolve Me
This has been a week for emotive metalcore and the return of Windrunner further solidifies this. The Hanoi progressive metalcore band continues their legacy of pursuing evolving soundscapes, Dissolve Me is as beautiful as it is heavy. It will be very interesting to see where 2024 takes this ground-breaking act.

That wraps up this weeks Five Fresh For Your Fridays. As always, if you are in a band, or represent one, and want to get your music out there, send us a message. We are always looking to elevate and cover new music- so get in as soon as you can!

Also, did we miss anything? Let us know what other great releases came out this week so we can shine a light on them.

Check out our Spotify Playlist as well, that way you can stay update with some of the freshest metalcore coming out of the Asia Pacific Region.
