We have been on a bit of a emotive hardcore/post hardcore kick at NOISE ‘N’ VISUALS recently, so when Pinoy band BRICKCITY came across our radar with their new single ‘Salt and Pepper’, we just knew we had to share.
Serving as a reintroduction to the band and a tribute to their previous record, ‘We the Forgettables’, they have teamed up with fashion filmmaker Isip and Denzel Joaquino to create a stunning visual masterpiece, layered with metaphor. Set in an ornate vintage home, the music video contrasts the song’s heavy guitars and powerful screams with its delicate and intimate visuals. The set, who features the design work of Justine Arcega-Bumanlag and styling by thrift enthusiast Shaira Luna. Adding an unconventional touch to the production, the work of rope artist Mistress Joyen is featured.
The video also stars creative duo Cenon Norial III and Mav Bernardo, playing two lovers preparing for dinner whose story is layered in with the bands enigmatic performance. The track itself feels like a sonic representation of evocative and deep love. The guitars pulling at the heart strings, with a vocal delivery that is raw and emotional- for new listeners, it truly is a great forray into the bands discography.
