Last week we delivered a line-up of notable names in Asia Pacific metalcore, but today we truly went in to find the uncut gems of the Asia Pacific Metalcore scene. While these bands are known in their respective countries, they may not be as well known outside- so let us help introduce you to some fresh music that hit the airwaves over the last week.

5. NOPEN- Sawasdee
What starts a prog/modern rock seemingly standard track rips into one of the nastiest breakdowns you will hear all year. This band does not have a lot of fanfare outside of Thailand at all, but it rips completely. We will also be honest, we have not done a lot of background research on NOPEN before writing this, as most is in Thai, but you don’t need to when a song is that damn good.

4. Shadecarrier- Cold Case…Predator On Sight

This band supported Fit For An Autopsy in Japan, if that gives you an idea what to expect from Shadecarrier. Brutal vocals, catchy as hell riffs and interesting soundscapes. The little rap interlude before the breakdown adds that extra layer numetalcore sounding vibes. There are so many influences and textures present only in one song- and that is just the first track of their new EP.

3. Hawasake- Kamuflase
The Indonesian metalcore scene is making it abundantly clear that there is so much talent just waiting to burst forth. Hawasake have been around since 2004 but have been taking their time between releases. Dropping their first album in 2012, they have made their presence felt back in the scene. This third single ‘Kamuflase’ is dripping with old school metalcore influences that just tickle your brain in all the right places. Fast, melodic and catchy as hell- make sure you check out the rest of their discography.

2. Subjects- Ghost
Okay, this is not exactly a new song BUT Subjects latest album ‘Parallax’ has just hit streaming services, so it is now a lot more accessible to everybody! This band showing that metalcore is well and truly alive in Kuala Lumpar, the band is delivering some intense modern/numetalcore. ‘Ghost‘ is one our favourite tracks on the album, giving us that almost prog-style guitaring with an unmistakeable metalcore vibe.

1. Revival- Renewal’s Call
Similiar to the previous release, this is not exactly new but it’s taken awhile to be distributed but oh man has it been a joy to discover this band. Another absolute gem from Indonesia, Revival’s latest EP ‘Eclipsed Reality’ goes insanely hard so we picked the first track on the album as it draws you in straight away. Again, dripping in the style and vibe of class metalcore but with the inclusion of modern nu-metalcore digital samples and soundscapes, this band really should be blowing up.

Hopefully you have found some fun new additions to your playlist.

If you have new music coming out or have stumbled across some incredible tracks from Asia Pacific Metalcore artists you think we should be covering- make sure you hit us up.

We want to deliver and share the best this incredible scene has to offer.
