In the wake of the kick off show for their  ‘For Your Legacy’ Japan tour, Tokyo band The Cards I Play have dropped the MV for their new single of the same name. As a band that never do things by halves- in fact they do things by 200% – the track is also accompanied by a second release ‘Demons’.

Blending elements of metalcore, rock, rap and nu-metal feels, The Cards I Play are one band who is blazing a trail against the grain of their peers. The double release, which follows a similiar formula to their previous single ‘Madness/KING’, puts the trios full range on display.

‘For Your Legacy’ is a fast-paced, uplifting anthem that captures the bands energy and positivity as they push towards their goals. The accompanying MV embodies that vibe, it is gritty but also bright. Imagery of burning it down and running forward. Brimming with motivational lyrics, it is a juxtaposed by the follow up, ‘DEMONS’. Alternatively, ‘DEMONS’ which takes on more of an emo-trap is darker. With both vocalists sharing their battles with anxiety and doubt, the music video replicates the deeper, more introspective vibe.

Finishing off with ambient bass solo from bass player Daiya, the band is once again showing us exactly who they are and why we should all have The Cards I Play on our radar.

“FOR YOUR LEGACY JAPAN TOUR” kicks off this weekend, Sunday September 1st at Shinjuku ANTIKNOCK. This will be followed by stops in Iwate, Hyogo, Yamanashi, Osaka, and Aichi. The tour final will be a special all-night edition of the band’s regular cross-culture event “B4,” held at Shibuya CLUB ASIA.
