After a few days of teasing, four of the most promising acts in Japanese metalcore have announced to an epic Tokyo show to get your new year started. The line-up featuring Sable Hills, PROMPTS, Earthists. and Hikage will hit the Shibuya Club Asia stage on Saturday January 11 and tickets are onsale now!

Sable Hills, the Tokyo riff lords, have been one of the most prominent Japanese bands leading a classic metalcore revival in Asia region. After playing Wacken Metal Festival in both 2022 & 2023, the band focused this year on Asia- heading out and playing festivals in places like the Philippines and China. They also signed to German label Arising Empire through who they dropped a hot new album Odyssey, and even held their own Frontline Festival back in September.

PROMPTS also had a landmark year. Announcing their signing to Australian label Greyscale Records, the band has since toured Australia twice and been non-stop playing shows. Giving us two banger singles ‘Sun Eater’ and ‘Edgerunner’– the band is constantly evolving their caustic, explosive new style metalcore sound. An absolute force to be reckoned with.

Earthists. have also been out on the road in 2024 too. Playing plenty of shows across Japan, but also increasing their fanbase in Asia, playing festivals in Thailand and China amongst other ventures. They released their much anticipated ‘Hypermetal’ EP, the band will be finishing off their year with a ONE MAN on December 18 in Tokyo, but they will waste no time getting back into it.

Hikage from Sapporo are probably one of the scenes most underrated emerging talents. With high energy live shows, the band has been a little busy in the studio this year. Releasing two singles and a three track, there has been no shortage of their music to get around. They have also been playing non-step, with their True Colors live series and appearances at festivals and taibans across the country, they work non-stop.  A punk infused core style, if you are yet to jump on the Hikage train- it’s about time to board.
