This week has been WILD for new releases. Just a broad spectrum of new tunes hitting our ears with no remorse at all!
So if you aren’t as glued to the socials as we are, here is some tunes you may have missed.
1. The Rocket Whale- Dreamcatcher
Our favourite Thai emo boys are back with a stunning new single, ‘Dreamcatcher’. This is apparently the last little peak we will get for their upcoming album and we have been listening to it NON-STOP.
2. Hanabie.- ‘いとをかしMyType’
The Queens of Harajuku-core dropped their brand EP Bucchigiri Tokyo this week and with it came this absolute banger. Of course, it’s accompanied by a visual masterpiece of an music video. Filled with some nasty breakdowns and fun little digital samples, it definitely helps with the post-Australian tour Hanabie. withdrawals being felt in our office.
3. Volatile Ways- Televised Suicide (feat. Bec of Terminal Sleep)
Look- we wrote a whole article on this track so we don’t need to say too much but in case you missed, YOU NEED TO LISTEN NOW. Brutal. Aggressive. Heavy as fuck. Just perfection. Read more here.
4. Riverinks- Drowning In My Self (feat AnotherBonr)
We stumbled across this Indonesian metalcore act a little while ago by accident and we have been HANGING for some more new music. The wait is other and this introspective banger hits just as hard as we hoped it would. That breakdown too. Goddamn.
5. AGGRESSIVE RAISIN CAT- Colour
Look, the name of the band hooked us in but we stayed for the sick music. Progressive metalcore from Singapore, AGGRESSIVE RAISIN CAT hits all the right notes. Pretty melodies, groovy as hell riffs, a wizard behind the kit and dynamic vocals- make sure you get around it.
6. BLKMOTH- Don’t Follow
BLKMOTH are a new band out of Sydney, Australia and they have just dropped their first single. No joke, it sounds like they’ve been doing this for years. The tune is absolutely massive, blending aggressive hardcore sensibilities, an impending sense of doom and brain scratching effects. Big things are coming from this band, we can feel it.
7. No Life- One Hitter (feat. ten56)
It’s been a week of gnarly features and this one is no different. Metalcore from Aotearoa, No Life knew exactly what they were doing when enlisting the services of ten56 and Buster Odeholm in putting together this one. Nasty, aggressive and dynamic- this one is a certified pit anthem.
8. PARAMENA- 1st End
Djent masters from Japan, PARAMENA have had a pretty wild year. So we had to include this one on the list. Giving us a little live footage in the music video from their adventures over at Wacken Metal Festival, this band is for those who like their tunes more on the extreme side. Crushingly low breakdowns, vicious vocals and absolute virtuosos on guitars, this band feels like the bridge between genres.
9. Parallel Horizons x Loisey- ‘Amor’
Melodic prog-metalcore act Parallel Horizons from Hong Kong have teamed up with fellow countryman and electronic artist Loisey for an upcoming extended release, dropping in February. ‘Amor’ is our first taste of this collaboration and it is a sonic marvel. So rich in sound, drenched in despair- it is a melancholic masterpiece. If this is a sign of what’s to come, we will be keeping a keen ear out.
10. Various Artists (listed in Description)- REDLINE
Now this is a bit of a different one so we had to finish on this. Say you put members of Crossfaith, Crystal Lake, coldrain, Dragon Ash, The Ravens, dustbox, EGG BRAIN, FACT, MAN WITH A MISSION, MONOEYES, NOISEMAKER, Northern19, Paledusk, ROTTENGRAFFTY, SiM, SHADOWS, SHANK, SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!!, The BONEZ, TOTALFAT and 04 Limited in a room and told them to put something together. Well this is EXACTLY what this is. To celebrate the upcoming REDLINE FESTIVAL, the artists featuring have put together this anthem. A bit of a who’s, who in the Japanese heavy music scene and while it’s bordering on a little cheesy side, it is fun to listen to and pick out the performers. (If they drop a music video, we will definitely up date the article)
That’s just some of the new music that hit our radar this week, we are sure we missed something- so let us know if we did. Also, if you would like your new music featured, make sure you slid into those DMs either through here or one of our social media accounts.
We have also just put together a NEW NOISE playlist on Spotify. So all songs (that are available) that get featured in our NEW NOISE articles will find their way onto that one. To check it out, click here.
