It is usually relatively quiet on the release front around this time a year, but we assure you, there still has been some heat dropping around the Asia Pacific region.
So let us show you what’s been happening, in no particular order.
5. ALIVETHENIGHT- The Gospel Truth
Ready for some more hidden gems from Thailand, well ALIVETHENIGHT are just that. Heavy, progressive metalcore with djent influences, rest assured they will keep you guessing with every turn. This latest release is no exception, giving us a beautiful blend of vocals, gripping melodies and cinematic soundscapes.
4. View From The Soyuz- Vitrail Cassé (Opus No.24)
Now when talk about underrated and underground bands, View From The Soyuz really holds that title. While gaining cult-like status in Japan, they aren’t as known outside and that is a crime. Going all out on the super DIY style release front, this track is only available currently on the bands Bandcamp. It has a gritty, under produced quality- but in the best way. Their particular brand of metal gives us that true melodic death metal style riffage, but it is delivered in a hardcore fashion. So no video on this, check out the release on BandCamp. (Also- look out for more coverage of this band as January 2025 they feature heavily on our gig roster)
3. BADWAVE- Breakin Chain
We are really showing the diversity of our coverage with this edition, but now we head to The Philippines to check out hardcore band BADWAVE. Very much classic hardcore, from riffs to the breaks to the lyrics. Giving us that Hatebreed positivity in a short, fast and furious format. What can we say, the song uplifting and fun- exactly what we expect from this awesome band.
2. KVNA- Afterimage
We will be honest here. We don’t much about this band at all. In fact, it was a suggested song that came up on YouTube while listening to another song on this list. All we know is they are Indonesian and Australian- and well, this track SLAPS. A brilliant blend of classic and new style metalcore. Lyrically, it is stunning. Guitar wise it is spellbinding. Rhythm section is working overtime. The vocal dynamics are just chefs kiss. What an incredibly put together song and great surprise.
1. STRANGERS- Self-title EP
Now- this is cheating a little, as it is a whole EP but we are staying in Indonesia as this Christmas day drop was something else. We will be publishing a review to discuss it more this week and mention the single ‘Mala’ a few weeks ago, but keep this band on your radar- they are already doing big things in the region.
That is our final New Noise of the year, remember if you want your band featured in 2025, please get in touch.
Send us an email or a message through social media and we will try and get your stuff out there.
Until then, it’s been so rocking with you all this year.
Stay tuned for New Noise from NOISE ‘N’ VISUALS in 2025.
