Looking at travelling to Thailand and/or Japan in May? Well, pull out your diaries and make sure you are adding these festivals to your itineraries because you do not want to miss these.

On Tuesday, Thailand’s Rock Alarm Festival announced they will be hosting this year’s festival on the 17th of May, most likely in Bangkok. A full day of a mix of metalcore, punk, hardcore, deathcore, hard rock and big names both in Thailand and international, Rock Alarm Festival is growing into one of the most notable heavy music festivals in South East Asia. There has even been talk that beloved band might be making a comeback….but we will keep you updated.

If you are looking for one of the best underground festivals in the Asia Pacific Region though, you cannot go past Japan’s BLOODAXE FESTIVAL. Hosting some of the biggest names in hardcore, metalcore and other heavy music genres both internationally and locally- this twice a year run festival has become a Tokyo institution. With the Spring Edition dates announced for May 31st, there is no doubt if you are even 5% contemplating a Japan trip in May, this should be on your itinerary. Full line-up to be announced soon and with sideshows almost a given, it is the best time of the year to plan your Japan trip if you like to throw down in the pit.
