If you are reading this on a Sunday night, chances are you are not doing much else.
So perfect time to spend it listening to some new music!
Here are four tracks that dropped this week that we think you should get around.
THEO JP- Error
Tokyo based underground progcore act THEOJP took us by surprise by dropping their brand new single ‘Error‘. Did you want some riffs upon riffs (bass included)? Well, here they are. Dynamic vocals? We got you. Heavy as hell drums? Of course. Some pretty little moments? There is that to! It’s catchy, it’s heavy and dare we say- it’s a banger.
Nowhere 2 Run- You’re To Blame
Guitar squeals abundant, the new track from South Australian hardcore band Nowhere 2 Run is here. It’s rugged, it’s raw and it’s hardcore in it’s most organic form. The upcoming Adelaide act is definitely one to watch, so get around their latest single.
Hands Like Houses- Fatally Fractured
Aussie post-hardcore heavyweights have been blessing us with plenty of new music, especially in the lead up to their new album ATMOSPHERICS. Their latest drop, which we are a little bit late on sharing, ‘Fatally Fractured‘ explores the emotions around the ending of a toxic relationship. It’s very much a sing sad in the bottom of the shower kind of tune, but like everything Hands Like Houses does- it’s unbelievably full-bodied and pretty.
Alien Weaponry- Mau Moko
Now we are bending the genres that we cover a little bit here (and we are sharing this a little late too), but we cannot help but celebrate the return of Aotearoa metal legends Alien Weaponry. What can we say? It’s powerful. It’s intense and shows there is a reason why this band is so loved. Sung completely in te reo Māori, it tells of the history of bloodshed and pain experienced by the Maori people through colonisation. Where Toi Moko and Mokomokai, preserved heads of Maori, were stolen as trophies in the 1800’s, and traded. Families are still today trying to return their ancestors home, where they belong.
If you think we have missed something, submit your music (or your favourite bands).
We would love to make these lists longer and longer each week, so we can share a variety music from across the Asia Pacific Region.
Remember, follow the bands mentioned and add these songs to your regular rotation!
