If it seems like we are spending a bit of time promoting the Thailand music scene right now- well you are right…because there is so much happening!

One of the big events is of course SUMMER BLAST, presented by Slamman Booking Asia. Held at Mr. Fox Live House this Sunday the 30th of March, with acts from across the globe, locally and of course, a bit of an afterparty- this weekend is sure to go off.


So let’s go through the lineup.

ALPHA WOLF

A band that needs no introduction (but we are going to give it to them) are the Australian metalcore mainstays Alpha Wolf. Kicking off their Terrible Days Across Asia tour by headlining Summer Blast– the band is sure to tear the roof off of the venue.

Within Destruction

Another band that is kicking off their Asia Pacific tour is Slovenia’s Within Destruction. Much loved across our region, the futurists of deathcore are back and going to bring their sheer guttural force to the Bangkok metal fans.

Distant

The downtempo-deathcore from the Netherlands are ready to absolutely crush it at Summer Blast. Taking the deathcore world by storm in 2017 with their EP Tsukuyomi the band have quickly become a must-see act in the modern deathcore sphere.

Defying Decay

Local legends Defying Decay have made a name for themselves over the years, with their hyped live shows and the genre fusing alternative metal music. Always a good time, they are just one of the Thai acts repping hard on this stacked show line-up.

Pathological Sadism

If slamming, brutal death metal is more your speed- the Thailand’s own Pathological Sadism is the band to check out. Making one of their rare appearances, the band has jumped on the Summer Blast lineup to just take the brutality up a notch.

AKIRA-KURØ

An alternative idol group that is blazing the scene in Thailand. One of the most renowned idol groups in the country, AKIRA-KURØ are the epitome of charming and rebellious.

GAI 荄 

Hanoi heavy hitters GAI 荄 will be making the trek over to Bangkok this weekend to deliver a set of their signature metalcore sound. Receiving attention across the globe for their solid singles, nasty breakdowns and ferocious lyrics- this is one band that should be on your must check out list.

Teresa

The future of Thai deathcore looks so bright with bands like Teresa leading the charge. One of the most furious bands in the current scene, Teresa are going from strength to strength with their brutal breakdowns and crushing riffs. A perfect combination of classic deathcore songwriting woven together with a modern sound, we are definitely hyped to catch these guys again.

The Last Shot

If you love classic metalcore riffs, then you are going to froth The Last Shot. The local lads are being tasked with kicking off this stellar lineup and no other band is up for the job quite like them. Edgy, heavy and just a straight-up great metalcore band- make sure you get in early to catch The Last Shot.

AFTER PARTY SPECIAL:

If that lineup is not enough, then make sure you plan to stick around- because this whos-who of the Thai metal scene are banding together bring you some emo bangers. Including members of Pathological Sadism, Sweet Mullet, ANNALYNN, Defying Decay, Ernie Ernie and จินตะ– this one is definitely for those from the MySpace Era.
