After wrapping up over two months of touring around Australia, Asia and across Japan, KNOSIS have not left their fans hanging. Treating fans before the tour final, the experimental metalcore project headed by Japanese metalcore legend Ryo Kinoshita, dropped their brand new single ‘SHINMON’, along with the long-awaited release date of their first full-length album GENKNOSIS. The album is due to drop on August 1st.
A play on the words Generation KNOSIS and Genesis (as in the first book of the Bible), GENKNOSIS marks the first book of KNOSIS’s story- Kinoshita told their Tokyo fans the day after the announcement.
The album includes remixed/remastered versions of the tracks found on their debut EP The Shattering, along with released singles ‘FUHAI’ and ‘SHINMON’ and instrumental ‘GENKNOSIS’. It also includes three songs that the band has been playing in some of their live shows, ‘DOKUNUMA’, ‘ANGETSU’ and ‘TANEBI’ (formerly known as ‘HAIBURA’– for all the fans commenting on their social media).
But wait, there is more! On the back of the release of the album, KNOSIS will be playing a three-show Japan tour to celebrate in October, bringing with them Survive Said The Prophet. A full circle moment, because not only is Survive Said The Prophet frontman Yosh Morita 50% of KNOSIS in terms songwriting/producing, but KNOSIS’ first ever tour was with the popular post-hardcore band. These will be some of KNOSIS’ biggest capacity headlining shows yet, with them taking over the Quattro venues in Nagoya, Osaka and of course, Tokyo.
