This week has been absolutely INSANE for new releases all across the Asia Pacific region- so much so, as much as we tried to do seperate articles this week- we couldn’t keep up!
So here are all the new releases this week that we have been banging in the NOISE ‘N’ VISUALS office this week.
Parkway Drive- Sacred
Look, starting off strong here. Australian metalcore legends have returned with a track that has combined all the eras of Parkway in one heavy song. From the two-step worthy verses, the catchy as hell chorus and of course, that sick breakdown- it is another notch in the belt of these absolute champions of the genre.
Ugoslabier- Hallucination (feat. Tao from Sweet Mullet)
If this band has yet to hit your radar, then you are missing out. Giving us the true definition of post-hardcore, the band from Thailand is an enigmatic force. ‘Hallucination’ takes that post-hardcore style noise guitars and rips you through a journey of high energy sonic bedlam. The vocal feature from another great, Tao from Thai heavy music pioneers Sweet Mullet, is the icing on the cake. It’s 3 minutes and 17 seconds of heavy goodness.
AKTA- Tanpa Cahaya (feat. Saniy Wickweaky)
Have you been introduced to Malay modern metalcore act AKTA? Never fear if you haven’t, because there is no time like the present. Tapping into that emo angst and weaving through some modern metalcore goodness, it is a tale about letting go of cherished things. Full of refined angst, plus a extra cool saxophone feature from Saniy Wickweaky, it is definitely a track to add your rotation.
DIESECT- HIDE FROM THE LIGHT
The title track from their upcoming EP, Australia’s DIESECT are once again proving why they are one of the most exciting bands going around at the moment. A musical representation of inner struggle and external chaos, they have taken that noise and djent infused, experimental modern metalcore sound and carved a style that is uniquely theirs.
As Alliance- UNDERDOGS
We told you it’s been a busy week, so let’s head over to Okinawa now and check out the new release from As Alliance. Two-step, hardcore inspired verses with a synthy chorus that channels fun pop sensibilities, it is one of those tracks that has a bit of everything for everyone.
AGAINST THE GRAVITY – UNIVERSES
This one is for your guitar heads. We are back in Thailand with the new single from AGAINST THE GRAVITY. The prog-metalcore maestros are really delivering when it comes to music that keeps your brain activated. Just when you think the song is going one way, it takes you another way. They have mastered a technical sound that still retains the rawness of the genre.
Atriox- Moments
We always like to highlight bands they may have slipped your radar, but we hope Aussie band Atriox haven’t. A beautiful blend of melodic and ferocious modern metalcore, everything about this track hits. Catchy riff, a groovy bassline, and a fantastic vocal dynamic, they fit right into this current wave of Australian metalcore. Oh and whoever is behind the kit? An absolute beast.
Justice For The Damned- Built To Be Broken
You didn’t think we would forget about the almighty Justice For The Damned did you? Of course not, we just decided to book end this list one some incredible Aussie mainstays. After having the opportunity to hear this one live a few months ago, it’s great to be able to carry it around in our ears. It’s heavy. It’s nasty. It’s straight up what Justice For The Damned does best. That breakdown makes you want to spin kick in public and we cannot get enough of this track.
Now as you can see, this list is STACKED! So if we missed any releases this week- then we apologise.
Make sure we don’t by hitting us up with your new music!
