At this point, Mélancolia are just teasing us. The blackened nu-metal band have dropped their third single off their upcoming album and it’s got us even more excited.

The brand new track, ‘Picking Scabs’ is another dip into their evolved atmospheric dark sound. A textured sound complete with the groove-laden riffs, a blunt force heaviness and snarling vocals, the band is really forging a niche identity for itself in an often times saturated music scene.

‘Picking Scabs’ is enough to tie us over until Mélancolia release their sophomore album, random.access.misery., which is scheduled to be released in August.

So what else can we expect from the release?

“We are bringing a fresh sound to an otherwise stale scene, you will not hear what we are doing from anyone else,” says the band. “We are setting the trend as we set the bar for modern heavy music. Love us or hate us, you will fucking remember us.”

They will also be taking off around Australia with a headline tour in September to celebrate the release. Tickets are available here.
