In case you missed it, Filipino metalcore band FRAGMENTS has made their return with the visceral new single ‘END/OR’.
This release marks a new chapter in the bands career, with a new line-up that has seen the departure of previous members Carl and Matt, and new drummer Keiran Tumpalan joining the fold. Previously known for lyrics more looking outward at the state of the world, using themes of politics and religion as framework, vocalist Niko Cezar took ‘END/OR’ in a different direction.
“For this one, I stopped pointing outward and started asking myself the hard questions — what’s going on with me? Where is this pain coming from? Why am I angry all the time? Why do I feel like I’m not enough, even when I try?“, Cezar explains,
“I went somewhere darker than I expected and confronted things I usually bury. I tried to write it as honestly as I could — no holds barred.
‘END/OR’ is about those thoughts that keep us up at night, the ones we never say out loud — not to our friends, not even to the people we love.
And if those thoughts win… what’s left of us?“

Accompanying the single is an enigmatic music video that further emphasises the bands deeper diver into creative expression and story telling. You can check it yourselves here.
And for those in the Philippines, the band will be celebrating the launch of ‘END/OR’ with a mini tour. Let’s hope it’s not long though until we see FRAGMENTS out on the road again in more places.

‘END/OR’ is out now through The Orchard.
