Not many bands make a debut as heavy as Melbourne’s HEAVENSGATE. A visceral metalcore phenom, with a raw, melancholic heavy sound, this band has had us captivated from the start. Today, along with dropping their second single this year ‘PETRICHOR’, the band have also announced they will be releasing their sophomore EP: A HEART IS A HEAVY BURDEN.

‘PETRICHOR’ embodies a sense of deepest desires, heavy sadness and depth. Signalling not just a shift, but a hint at evolution, it marks the next stage for HEAVENSGATE.

“This song helps bridge the gap between some of our older material that fans grew fond of whilst introducing them to a fresh take on those ideas. We’ve grown a lot as a band and so have our tastes, this single perfectly encapsulates that and shows how much our sound has matured,” shares the band.

We cannot wait to hear what is to come.
