Hailing from The Phillipines, FRAGMENTS have never compromised on the messages their music conveys. In what maybe their most haunting release yet, the band’s latest single ‘GLASSTHRONE’ is a reflection on current social and political issues happening in their home country.
This release not only has an unrelenting message flowing through the tracks lyrics and themes, it may also be the bands most stylistically evolved yet.
For those who have not been keeping track of what has been happening in The Philippines, the country has been devastated by not only two huge typhoons- but a call addressing the corruptions with the nations leaders has been ringing out amongst its people.
‘GLASSTHRONE’ boldly addresses these issues, sending a message that there is no longer time for just the passive resilience. Sonically, it reflects these themes almost as boldly as the lyrics, leaving you feeling the depth of the emotions being presented.
The release comes just before FRAGMENTS, along with fellow countrymen Juggernaut and Novacain, head overseas to join Thailand’s Puppets on a three show run in Tokyo.
Returning to Japan for the first time since their successful tour last year, this visceral new single is sure to win over old and new fans alike.
You can listen to ‘GLASSTHRONE’, out now through The Orchard, here.
