The legendary bi-annual Bloodaxe Festival is approaching us and it’s a lineup announcement we look forward to seeing every year. Just when you think they can’t be topped, the next edition comes through and has everybody HYPED!

Well, the 2026 Spring edition of the festival is no different, with Australia hardcore darlings SPEED topping with bill, followed oh so closely with the legendary POISON THE WELL.

Alongside some of Japan’s finest, are USA heavyweights BIG BOY, Foreign Hands and Koyo.

If you are a Japanese hardcore/metalcore fan, then you are also in for a treat. As always, Japanese legends Loyal To The Grave and PALM are on the lineup, along with Tokyo metalcore mainstays View From The Soyuz and KNOSIS.

Other local acts, Universe Last A Ward, True Fight, Makeshift and Fallen Grace are also included.

One of the big stories coming out of this fest is the appearance of the much-loved Graupel, who are making their return in early 2026 after a long hiatus.

Bloodaxe Festival is one of the Asia’s most globally recognised underground heavy music events. Started by the band Loyal To The Grave back in 2000, when Fall Silent made their first appearance in Japan- the festival has since hosted premier acts such as Turnstile, Knocked Loose, Heaven Shall Burn, Counterparts, Despised Icon, The Acacia Strain, Dying Wish and many, many more. Not just a show, but a real showcase of the Japanese hardcore community, it’s always worth putting on your calendar for the year.
