While everybody else was sitting back, getting lost in the Christmas to New Years void- these bands were dropping new tracks to end 2025/start 2026 STRONG.
So buckle up and get ready to introduce these new years bangers to your 2026 playlists.
Tragedy Of Murder- ‘After The Storm’ ft. Kagami (Dexcore)
We really think that 2026 is going to be a real year of deathcore renaissance and one of the bands that are pushing the scene in South East Asia is none other than Thailand’s Tragedy Of Murder. Combining symphonic elements with snarling deathcore, ‘After The Storm’ is another stunning addition to this bands repertoire. The feature from Kagami, vocalist of Japanese visual metalcore band Dexcore, is the icing on the cake. Epic track, in all sense of the word.
Rebuild- ‘Wraith‘
Some straight up metalcore from the Philippines? Don’t mind if we do. Riffs, breakdowns and some sing-a-long moments? Perfection. Is this the year we take metalcore back to it’s roots? Well, if Rebuild have anything to do with it, we just may do! Their new single ‘Wraith’ scratches that metalcore itch in all the right ways so do yourself a favour and add Rebuild into the bands you get to know in 2026.
Asteriya- ‘Ascend Like A Phoenix’
Combining symphonic/gothic metal elements with modern djent/numetalcore, Asteriya spent 2025 going on a sonic reinvigoration. Formed in the hot belly of the rich Tokyo underground music scene, ‘Ascend Like A Phoenix’ is Asteriya‘s stamp on the New Year. A bold declaration that helps ring in a new era for the band, it’s the start of something beautiful. So come along for the ride.
Crystal Lake- ‘Neversleep’ feat. Myke Terry (Volumes)
Okay, we are cheating a little bit. This song has been out for a minute, but the music video only just dropped. The Japanese metalcore mainstays are well and truly proving why they have some much longevity in the scene. ‘Neversleep’ is an absolute crushing track that perfectly encapsulates the classic Crystal Lake sound. A cheeky feature from Myke Terry is very cool too. We can’t wait to check out the new album when it drops this year.
Eleven Tonight- ‘Oblivion’
This track did come out a few weeks ago, but amongst the Christmas chaos- we missed it! So you might have too! Eleven Tonight are a post-hardcore/metalcore band from Malaysia and their latest single ‘Oblivion’ is a must-listen. Pretty vocals, heavy breakdowns and gorgeous soundscapes, it feels like a crime to only be playing this song now. Don’t sleep on this band.
So we hope this helps you start the new year with some new music discovery. We can’t wait to keep sharing with you the brightest and newest gems in the Asia Pacific scene.
Welcome to 2026.
