Here are some tracks released recently that we’ve been spinning, from all across the Asia Pacific.
g6pd- ‘Black Sun’
The metalcore mainstays from Chiang Mai, Thailand, are back with ‘Black Sun’. A heavy and powerful track that thunders forward. Moments of melody followed up by some crushing breakdowns, it is a straight up fantastic metal offering.
Pyrokinesis- ‘Momentum‘
Some nu-hardcore from Australia? Don’t mind if we. Pyrokinesis has dropped their brand new EP Sulphur, along with the single ‘Momentum’. This straight-up fast and furious track is another act from the new wave of more genre-blending Aussie hardcore/metalcore. We’ve been thrashing it for a few weeks now, and we reckon you might end up too.
MIRRORS- ‘Purity In Decay’ (feat. Kyle Medina- Bodysnatcher)
Disgustingly heavy, Japanese deathcore legends MIRRORS are back with an absolute ripper of a release. Featuring Bodysnatcher’s Kyle Medina, this brutal as hell track takes us back into the golden age of deathcore. Stank face activated.
Arcadia- ‘Fading Pages’
Emotional. Melancholic. Nostalgic. Pinoy melodic hardcore band Arcadia never leave us hanging too long between dances, and ‘Fading Pages’ is the perfect way to let us catch our breath. It has a timeless sound that will hit multiple generations of music lovers in the feels, dipping into pop-punk styling without losing its hardcore edge.
And if you are going to listen to any track on this list- let it it be the following:
Pastgloom + Gai + Windrunner- ‘Ad Mortem’
This release from Vietnam is from the collaborative EP Glass Angels Initiative: Code Orange. Decades ago, dioxin contamination left long-term consequences across parts of Vietnam. While the conflict itself ended, the effects have persisted, impacting health, families, and rural communities for generations. Many individuals continue to require ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and daily support. This release is part of a community-driven effort to raise awareness and contribute tangible assistance. All net proceeds will be donated to VAVA (Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin) to support individuals and families affected by dioxin exposure in Vietnam.
