Thai talent is really having its moment in the sun right now. From pop music to fashion and entertainment, it is bearing a striking resemblance to when the Hallyu wave went global.

In the underground heavy music scene though, many have been in the know the gems that the country has to offer. Bangkok Evilcore heavyweights Whispers and Thai metalcore mainstays ANNALYNN have made sure of that. Now with sixteen year old rock superstar Nene Royal capturing the worlds attention- it is a great time to get yourself well-versed in the bands killing it across the heavy music scene.

Now we’ve written many articles highlighting bands and festivals. From the countries premier metal festival Rock Alarm to some hardcore, metalcore and deathcore acts absolutely slaying the scene, you can find plenty of Thai music coverage here. We have also been attending many industry events talking about the Asia Pacific region and experts have all been saying one thing: Thailand is the next emerging market across the board. EDM festivals have also noticed this, seeing the Thai editions of EDC and Tomorrowland coming up soon.

So if you are thinking about booking a last minute getaway and what to find yourself in the moshpit- then November is the TIME. Not only are there some hectic international shows coming including My Chemical Romance, The Used, Fall Of Troy (among others) but there is one show of local talent on display in Bangkok.

First up is Soul Slam Vol.2 at 1981 Soul & Sold Mall. This is a free show put on in one of Bangkok’s newest vintage malls. So head in at 11am and get your shopping done, then stay for an insane blend of hardcore, slam and metalcore. Headlining is Germany’s Half Me, with a plethora of Thai acts. This will kick off on November 7th. It is free, so check the flyer below for more details.

Whether you are familiar with the Thai scene or not, needless to say it’s popping. With such strong trailblazers making a name for themselves across the globe, it’s only a matter of time before we see a real Thai takeover.

November maybe stacked, but there are no shortage of shows, both Thai bands and internationals all across the year in Bangkok. Follow us and our friends to stay up to date.
